My Philosophy

In practice, I strive to consider the whole person. Believing, as humans, we are emotional, spiritual, and physical beings, each of which impacts the other. Therefore, all should be considered when striving toward overall well-being and a happy frame of mind. Life’s stressors can leave us sad, discouraged, uncertain, and struggling to cope with overpowering feelings and circumstances. We all deserve to feel balanced, confident, and whole as we strive to be our best selves.

My goal in practice is to work with each client where you are as an individual. To do this, I believe an integrative approach grounded in neurobiological/brain-based therapies, cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and a psychodynamic perspective allows flexibility in meeting the client’s specified goals. Importantly, this approach embodies a collaborative method with you, the client, as an expert on your life and me as a psychologist, in developing tools to find balance, change problem behaviors, gain insight, and feel empowered. For my part, I will listen mindfully and openly while assisting you in identifying unhealthy patterns and creating healthier ways of being.

Lasting healing comes from profound self-exploration, insight, a willingness to adapt, and self-acceptance. There are no guarantees or quick fixes; it will take time, grit, and authentic participation from both of us. No amount of therapy can undo the past, but when we are successful, you can live within your truth, fully embracing life’s peaks and valleys.

Ultimately, my practice mission is to provide comprehensive psychological evaluations and treatment focusing on the whole person to improve wellness and well-being by utilizing sound ethics, integrity, and respect in applying standardized and evidence-based treatment.

The Journey

I am a Native Texan. In pursuit of education, I have lived in California, Illinois, Tennessee, and Europe. My major in undergrad was fine art. Through art, I discovered my first passion– Art Therapy, which inevitably led me to psychology. Once I discovered the power of art therapy, there was no turning back. I am committed to the idea we all deserve to live happy, healthy, and fulfilled lives. Each day, I look forward to working with others, helping to make momentous changes, and gaining insight you can use to reach goals to impact your life, putting you closer to living in your truth. I enjoy photography, traveling, reading, and being with family and friends during my downtime.
